Citigroup Names Singapore-Based Commercial Banking Head

Dhawan reports to Gunjan Kalra, head of Citi Commercial Bank for Asia North, Australia and Asia South clusters, Tibor Pandi, Citi country officer and head of banking for Citi Singapore, and Gaurang Hattangdi, head of coverage, Citi Commercial Bank. Dhawan will continue in his role as head of emerging corporates (EC) for Asia.
While not a private banking or wealth role, the “one-bank” model adopted by organisations such as Citigroup means that the CCB business has some overlap with the work the lender undertakes in serving ultra-high net worth clients, many of whom are business owners.
Dhawan joined the US banking group as a management associate and has held senior corporate and risk management jobs in Asia and Africa. He has been head of emerging corporates since 2017.
“We are seeing the emergence of a number of emerging and mid-sized corporates in Singapore that are pursuing regional and global expansion,” Kalra said of Dhawan’s appointment.
